A Cackling Riot Of Tasteless Lines
2013
RING (stainless steel, cellophane chocolate wrapper, hand-written aluminium strips from a used takeaway container)
A Low-Tech Reliquary For The 21st Century.
Being bilingual in a foreign country, I am exhilarated by the infinite possibilities offered by the observation of language. What happens when you choose language as a material? What happens when you let that material take over part of the making process?
As maker, I dictated the construction material and style: a "cocktail ring of stainless steel". I then let language dictate the narrative through a subversive anagram, ending up with a trashy title and the inevitably dire contents!
